About the LG VRF Training Center

TMS Johnson’s LG VRF Training Center offers hands-on education designed for contractors, engineers, and building owners.  From installation to commissioning and service, courses prepare trainees with knowledge and experience to make their LG VRF project a success. A variety of LG certifications are available, with the opportunity to interact with fully operational equipment with the guidance of an experienced instructor.

Training Topics

Safety, Tools, and Products

We’ll review safety resources, look at the typical tools you’ll need, and provide an overview on LG product model numbers, heat pumps, VRF equipment, heat recovery units, ceiling cassettes, controllers, BMS gateways, accessories and more.

Equipment Installation, Piping, and Control Wiring

We’ll cover several pre-installation considerations including proper placement, transportation, mounting/anchoring, and more – with emphasis on piping and control wiring.

Startup and Commissioning

We’ll walk through the pre-commissioning tasks to complete before arranging factory-authorized startup and commissioning. During lab activities, students will be introduced to LGMV (LG Monitoring View Software) to evaluate performance, assist with maintenance, and help with troubleshooting.

Prerequisites

  • Advanced technical knowledge of Commercial Air Conditioning, Heat Pumps, and applied systems.
  • Basic working knowledge of basic wiring and piping techniques.
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
